About Dark Spaces Between Teeth
Many adults have dark spaces between their teeth, also referred to as "Black Triangles." This is especially common after gum surgery, orthodontic treatment or just having recession at the gum line. This condition is prone to accumulate food debris which results in excessive plaque build-up. Black Triangles make the teeth look old. When you come to our office with this problem, we use tooth shaped forms which are filled with a composite material that matches the color of your teeth. The forms are removed leaving behind smooth contoured composite that has beautiful shine and is smooth to the touch. The form sits just below the gum line, meaning the teeth will appear to emerge naturally. The tight contacts achieved with this system mean that the papilla (the gum in-between the teeth) is hugged back into place, revealing a healthy youthful smile.
